Benefits of Pursuing Accreditation by Standards for Excellence Institute
Every month or two, I join a group of volunteers to review an application for accreditation through a several hours long confidential process.
🌏 Nonprofit accreditation and recognition through the Standards of Excellence Institute is a national program created by Maryland Nonprofits decades ago.
💡 The mission of both is to strengthen organizations and networks for greater quality of life and equity.
📔 Accreditation can remove some of the guesswork for giving, a benefit to funders who trust the third-party review and support provided to organizations going through the accreditation process.
🔗 I believe that the process benefits nonprofits by increasing revenue, strengthening boards, and improving operational effectiveness.

*** Accreditation is offered nationwide and many statewide organizations and nonprofit networks such as Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO), create their own welcoming, accessible approach and program in keeping with the national standards.
