Funders United to Support Trans Causes

As we approach the 15th annual Trans Day of Visibility (#TDOV), I was reminded of DVLF's first convening of regional funders around Trans causes in 2007 of which I was a part.

When a community-based #funder brings together #donors and institutional #grantmakers to hear from experts in a particular field, exciting things can happen.

Funder networks can play a critical role in fostering collaboration, capacity building, joint project launching, and dispersal of cutting-edge knowledge about shared causes, among other purposes depending on the group.

DVLF's group focused on equity, health, and nonprofit sustainability while featuring the voices of those who were central to problem solving.

I found this photo in an old folder and scanned it because it was a great memory of a conversation that continues today.

Flash-forward twenty years to today. While many of the issues are still at the forefront and there's still a tremendous amount of work yet to get done, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate some progress made and remember the importance of continuing to work together towards a more equitable future.
