Navigating the path ahead: five $-raising reminders
Sometimes we get stuck and fail to see opportunities and resources that are within our grasp. We may mistakenly perceive our path as a dead end, when in fact it is simply curving in a new direction.
Here are five tips to consider, when it feels like your forward momentum has slowed:
1. Consider how you might inspire greater board fundraising: Ask your board if they can give more, offer introductions to their network, generate meaningful gifts-in-kind, and thank major donors. Be open to planned gifts.
2. Inspire visitors to your donation page to give more. Show the impact of how each dollar amount, or range of giving, improves the lives of your clients (and/or patients, students, constituents, etc.).
3. Build donor prospects by asking key leaders, volunteers, and development committee members. Plan how you can convert those folks into interested prospects to later qualify and cultivate.
4. Have you tried wealth screenings of those already in your network? Rate and prioritize these individuals by interest in mission and closeness.
5. Cross-pollinate your mailing lists and social media following by inviting folks to engage in a new way.
