Inspiring Commitment to Community

Through the years I’ve seen many examples of formal and informal corporate social responsibility programs. These programs not only benefit the direct recipients, but consistently boost workplace engagement and morale among the staff who participate.    One company that intrinsically created their own program with model-high staff participation is Underwriting Management Experts (UME), headquartered in Lansdale, PA. 

In recent years UME through its employees has supported initiatives benefitting area food banks, veterans’ services, health and human rights organizations, youth programs, and more.  Since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, UME staffers have spent 3-4 hours each Friday participating in community service projects.

Congratulations to UME and CEO/Founder Anne Marie Chapman on being chosen as one of the Inspiring Excellence honorees that was spotlighted recently by The Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia at their Inspiring Excellence Awards Program.

During the program, the audience voted for their favorite inspiring story. UME was chosen as the winning organization and was designated $2,500 to a local nonprofit of their choice.
