Documents Checklist for Nonprofit Fundraising

It's the beginning of the year-ish....and this is my un-fun, mood-busting 🌞 reminder about important items that are helpful to maintain in our electronic folders.

☸ Short list to have around:

1. State Certificate of Registration (compliance requirement to ask for $)

2. Updated W-9 for 2024 (great for #corporate #funders, sometimes required)

3. Statement about registration to accompany asks for #support (ever work somewhere when someone reports the #organization to the state? Not fun) 

4. IRS Form 990 (since half of #institutional funders want you to send this public document to them)

5. Annual Report/Impact Report (about a quarter of regional funders want to see yours)

6. Strategic Plan/Organizational Roadmap (many institutional funders require or ask for this document)
