Lakeysha’s Story: Watch this video
Way to go, Lakeysha: https://lnkd.in/eVV3U4fi
It was a pleasure to meet mother of three Lakeysha, who has always been the type of person to drop everything to help the people close to her.
After years of being there for others, she realized she needed to focus on herself and in her words, “pour into my own cup.”
Three months after joining the Compass Working Capital FSS program with Boston Housing Authority, Lakeysha overcame her first hurdle by improving her credit score.
Then over time, she achieved a series of successes:
==> She saved $7,000 in her FSS Account & built 10K in personal savings
==> Secured her own car to safely & quickly travel to work
==> Enrolled in professional development courses to advance in her human services career
Lakeysha attributes much of her financial learning to her Compass Financial Coach, but indeed it was she who put the lessons to the test and improved her own life. In her words, “My attitude and ambition are growing. I can feel confidence and self-esteem getting stronger every day because of it.”
What’s next for Lakeysha?
Homeownership, because “There’s nothing more comfortable than having your own space […] where you have more flexibility to enjoy your family or even create other possibilities for yourself.”
